CHStage Supporting Cast Parent’s Association
CHStage Supporting Cast’s Parent Association is organized to support CHStage. Parents are expected to help out in many ways throughout the production process. The Supporting Cast Foundation supports the students and directors but does not dictate CHStage policies or guidelines.

Any parent can become involved in the Association. It is not necessary for your students to have leadership positions in the company. The Leadership Team’s parents ARE NOT required to be the leaders of the Parent’s Association.
It takes a lot to put on a show. Many people ask why we fundraise, why we need a fee, why we can't support ourselves via ticket sales, and why we need the support of every parent...
- The show fee pays for a small portion of the show's overall expenses. The rest must come from ticket sales and fundraising.
- Shows cannot promote themselves. We need every parent and student to promote the shows via networks, putting up posters, and talking up the show.
- There are a lot of little jobs that have to be done to make a show run well besides what you see on stage.
- The club has expenses such as awards, and registration fees and renewal fees.
Please keep in mind that while we encourage and appreciate parental involvement, one of the cornerstones of CHStage is student leadership and responsibility. It is important that we allow the students to try new things, learn from mistakes, and develop life skills such as time management, teamwork, and conflict resolution. When students are expected to take responsibility for their own actions, the development of these concepts are much stronger.
If the cost of a cast or crew fee, tech week meal fee, or festival required for CHStage participation presents a financial hardship, please contact Michelle Meyer. Financial assistance may be available through a fund provided by our Supporting Cast Foundation. All information will be kept confidential.
